Ciao la mia famiglia!
Thursday
was p-day and rocking. Seriously, they save my life. I was able to get
so much accomplished and no nap for me :) No wasting the Lord's time.
Friday: Class, gym, class. haha This will be your life Becca.
Gym time is the most divinely inspired 50 minutes of the day. I usually
run or play volleyball, which I happen to be crazy good at not. If I had
played like this is High school that would have been pretty awesome. It
is a hoot because we have some missionaries that played in college who
are of course, insanely good and then we have the missionaries who look
like they are swinging a bat when serving :) It always proves to be an
adventure. I've been able to lift some weights before and am trying to
stop flabbing arms from occurning :) and I haven't gained a pound thank
you very much! go me go me, go go go me!
Saturday. Class; gym; language assessments. hahaha we talk
into these head phones and answer questions which are recorded and sent
to our teachers. It's hilarious. Tons of missionaries stress out about
it but I usually try my best, bear my testimony in 10 words and then
leave a funny joke in english for my teacher. Gotta keep it light, ya
know....The weirdest part of the week is Saturday night. Everyone and
their grandma's cat are out doing something awesome and I sit in class
:) A strange adjustment.
Sundays are money in the MTC. For Relief Society this funny
women who was the fist sister missionary to serve in the Far East
(included all of Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Malasia, and the
philliphines) spoke about her experiences. She was the funniest woman I
have ever heard. She gave some wonderful advice about learning to speak a
2nd language. To sum it all up, the language of love is far more
important than any other 2nd language. If I can learn the language of
love; thus being the language of Christ, than I WILL learn Italian. My
two favorite quotes from her-
Our Sunday night devotional was the media guy from the church. He
talked about Mormon Media and how much of an impact it has. Cool stuff!
They are doing some sweet media compagnians (holy flip, how do you spell
that now!?!?!) in England to combat the newly opening Book of Mormon
musical. If you can look it up, do. Pretty neat. Heavenly Father is far
more smarter than Satan. Take that little devil! I also love Sunday
nights because we get to watch church movies. This week; Legacy. All the
missionaries went crazy during the kissing and romance scenes. We are
all starving for physical attention. Handshakes suck :)
Monday. Class. Gym. Class. Contemplate sneaking out to see
Rachel but deciding Provo is far to scary a place to venture out. Must
stay in bat-ridden, safe MTC.
Tuesday. We have "service"
and clean other girls showers. Stephen would flip. This girls are the
worst. So much hair everywhere and soggy toilet paper in the showers.
Good thing it is service or I wouldn't do it. I make Sorella Nelson
clean out the hair and I do the srubby part. Tuesday night we had a
little surprise. We have devotional from 7-8 but we never know who the
speaker will be until they walk in two seconds before it starts. this
week. ELDER RICHARD G. SCOTT!!!!!! Wooooowooooo the mormons go crazy!!!
He gave awesome advice about strengthing our prayers and recognizing
personal revelation. He was an answer to many of my prayers! So he gives
his talk, we sing, a girl gets up to pray. Elder Scott literally
sprints back to the podium and cuts the girl saying the prayer off. He
is surprisingly loosey goosey for a man his age. He totally works
out....Anyway.....He tells us he feels the need to say a little more.
Then we gives us an apostolic blessing! Close your jealous mouths!!!!
Yes, he did. He said that not only will we all be blessed to learn our
language but we will MASTER it. Hello tears that have suddenly sprung to
my eyes. How cool is that?!?!?!?!?! Everything will work out. I was
called to succeed not to fail! Woo. Okay, you can breathe again.
Wednesday: See Monday. Except for we have an "investigator"
Fabbio. These investigators are played by our teachers but are all real
people they met in their missions. So we have taught Fabbio a few times
and I felt the need to just hit him the baptismal invitation. "Fabbio,
Sequira l'esempio di Gesu Cristo facedonsi battezare da qualcono che
detiene l'aurtorita del sacerdozio di Dio!? (Fabbio, will you follow the
example of Jesus Christ and be baptized by someone who holds the
priesthood authority of God?").....wait for it....I'm on the edge of my
seat......staring him in the eyes.....proud of myself for remembering
the entire thing....Spirit is as thick as a hairy man's chest...Fabbio:
Si!!!!!!! (yes). Yup, I nearly broke. Tears sprung to the eyes!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!! THE CHURCH IS TRUEEEEEEE!!!!!! Such a wonderful moment.
If I have just 1 of these moments with a real investigator the entire 18
months will be worth it. Yay.
Well fam, that is about it!
Have you guys been
