Ciao di nuovo dalla terra di Italia!

Hello family and friends,

This week has a been a fantastic week. First, let us start the reading off with a few laughs to make the belly jiggle in delight.

Story 1) the scarying rival continues with Sorella Burkman, and she is currently ahead. The little sneak found some silly puddy and managed to sculpt a veryyyy accurate lizard in a way that could put Michaelangelo to shame. Well I peacefully kneel down to pray when I glance up an notice a HUGE lizard right by my head! I let out a cute squel and the Burkster starts roaring with laughter. But I am faster than her and managed to crawl after her until she found safety in the bathroom. She refused to come out for a solid 20 minutes. The game continues, I shall prevail.

"Clearly enjoying the land of Pizza.
Just discovered order in."
Story 2) we have an investigator who speaks English but apparently doesn't understand English very well (he is from Nigeria). Well we taught the Law of Chastity and I had to dumb it down and be as frank as possible with him so he would understand. I literally say, "God asks that we do not have sex until after we are married" and a huge pine cone falls out of the tear, coming centimeters away from knocking me out. He was all laughter and thinks he is a sign from God trying to shut me up. hahahahahaha nice try getting around that commitment bud.

Now onto the latest missionaryesk news. This week we made huge progress! We have 3 new investigators and 1 new baptismal date! Brown came to us a referral from the office and we travel by train about 25 minutes to teach him. He is from Nigeria and knows the bible SOOOO WELLLLLLL! He asks reallllly tough questions and teaching him is a huge pleasure because he makes you think fast and outside the box. Currently he is struggling to believe the BoM is the word of God and we are planning lessons around testifying the BoM teaches hand in hand with the Bible about Christ. He has a true desire to follow Christ and has incredible faith. He would look great in baptismal white!  We found Ivo at a bus stop  we were waiting at and he is from "yugoslavia". We taught him for the first time on Friday and he came to church on Sunday!!! WOO HOO!!! He is catholic but he said the restoration makes sense to him so he is progressing wonderfully. Our newest victim is Destiny, a man from Nigerian who studied with the sisters about 1 year and half ago. We are taking it slow with him because he knows a lot but has mixed a lot of up it up in his head. Pray for these wonderful men!

My favorite moments this last week included

1) Louisa: We took her a message from our favorite scriptures and hymns. We brought her a hymn book and she LIT UP! She sang right along with us and then remembered a few of her old favorites that she sang. She had tears in her eyes and I nearly lost it. The growth she has made is incredible. When I first met her she was smoking 4 packs a day, never smiled and wouldst read or pray. Now she has read through Mosiah, is allllll smiles and laughs like a young girl all the time. I will be destroyed when saying goodbye to her because as she has progressed I feel like i have progressed as a missionary. She started off being absolutely nothing to anyone and now she understands that God loves her, Christ loves her and I love her. My favorite person from Rimini.

2) Louis: is an "eternal investigator" that has now started making true progress. He is drawn to the priesthood as a man but doesn't understand that it is different than what other religions offer. We had a lesson with him about the priesthood and I shared the Alley family priesthood history. Being able to show that we can trace our family priesthood back to Christ truly amazed him. I love teaching about the priesthood because it is form of communication with God that everybody wants! boooooom

3) La Famiglia Bazan: We have visited the Bazan family a few times and they are awesome members! They have two sons (17 and 14) that are incredibly loving and playful. Whenever we are with them it reminds me of home and how goofy and wonderful our family is. This family was not active until a year ago and we found it fitting to share the story of the title of liberty. We each made our own titles of liberty and shared them with the family. After we left, we sent a thank you text and the next morning Alan (17 years) sent us a text back saying that after our lesson he decided he wanted to serve a mission and is going to start preparing and wants to help teach with us! It was a tender mercy from the Lord to let us know we ARE making a difference.

Well that about sums up the week, pictures to follow later! I love you all!

I challenge each of you to give out a pass along card this week. Really, it is not that scary and it will make the work just a tinnnny bit easier for some future missionary. DO IT!

sempre,

"Luigi gave us a tour of his boat. He basically combs the
bottom of the sea and makes it nice and flat! It was pretty cool! "

""Luigi, your turn to get in!" (I begin to crawl out)
"Okay!!! Here I come!" (Giant man crawling at me!!!!)
Breaking every rule in the book."
"Sorella Burkman (obviously the black nun) and I in the future... "
