Okay, more details
this week for the safety of mom's heart. Literally, we haven't had one
quiet moment here in Pisa. We start running at 6:30 and literally havent slowed down until 10:40
each night. It feels good to work so hard with the end so near and I
plan on keeping this pace to the end - so I will most likely come home
half dead but consecrated!
Updates: I had an italian companion for a day!
Sorella Boscia is from Sicily and 35. I did an exchange with her and
loved all 24 hours! It was a bittersweet exchange for me because after
the day, my italian had already improved and it was sad to say goodbye
knowing, I will most likely never have that experience again. She is a
great missionary and we saw miracles left and right!
I hate poison ivy....it's strangely good...
There
are a few members here that are part of the base close by and one of
them baptized his 8 year old daughter. It was so cute to see and I
mentally thought back to my own baptism. I dont remember much except I
had a beautiful white ribbon braided in my hair and it only took one
time (i am now recognizing that as a learned skilled: dad you are
skilled!) but I do know the importance of baptism and am greatful for
parents that taught me so well. After the baptism, we headed to a festa
in her honor at her house. It was a great missionary opportunity as
there were full blooded italian non members and full blooded american
nonmembers! It was sugar to little andrew - heaven on earth. There is a
line in preach my gospel that says, "the more you understand the
atonement, your desire to testify and share your knowledge with grow."
this is so true! I found myself thinking, "here are all these wonderful
people who just dont have the knowledge! I MUST TALK TO THEM!!!" At the
end of the night, we had much success and were thrilled!
So as an sister training leader we are required to
go to consiglio every month - basically missionary council for the
entire mission with all the other leadership. It is a laid back
atmosphere where we talk openly with one another about mission problems
and how we can overall improve the work here in la missione milano. I am
not byass or anything but the missionaries here are truly the best of
the best. It is such a priviledge to serve with them! I also got to see
my boy, Elder Pagano! The last time I saw him was the first day in
Italy, so we were excited to be reunited at last! I am pretty sure if I
had a little brother that I also wanted, it would be him.
President Dibb, if he passes a exam of some sort, will be back in Italy the 21st of June.
It has been strange not having him here and I contemplated starting a
revolution. I couldn't help it, the inner rebel came out. Speaking of
which - Grandpa Joe's dad was born in 1860 in North
Carolina.......hahahaha a) he is older than heck and b) i have rebel
blood in my veins. REVOLUTION! I am kidding. I like being consecrated
more, it brings the blessings.
Well, that is about it! vi amo tutti! Spero che abbiate una settimana bellissima e piena di felicità!
Sorella Alley
